Editorial policy
This policy describes how our guides are researched, written, checked and kept up to date.
Independence
We choose which destinations, neighbourhoods and hotels to cover. Affiliate partners cannot buy inclusion, change our wording or approve content. Whether a hotel has a partner link does not decide whether it is recommended.
Verification
Facts that change — opening hours, fees, transport times, distances, amenities and prices — are recorded in a private fact store with their source, the date they were verified and a date by which they must be checked again. Our guides only state these facts when a current verified record exists. Where we could not verify something, we say so or leave it out.
We do not show live availability, current prices, review scores or star ratings unless they come from an authorised data source that is working.
What we will not do
- Claim we stayed somewhere, or describe a personal experience, when we have not.
- Invent reviews, testimonials, ratings, awards or credentials.
- Promise savings, availability or particular outcomes.
- Copy or lightly rewrite other publications.
Recommendations
Every recommendation should say who it suits, a realistic drawback and a practical alternative. We would rather explain a trade-off than oversell a hotel.
Corrections and updates
The "Updated" date on a guide changes only when we make a meaningful change to its content. If you spot an error, please tell us and we will review it.
